Zambia won the rights to host AFTRA key events in 2024. In accordance with the AFTRA Constitution, a host country also hosts all the AFTRA Executive Board meetings until the events are accomplished. This is to enable the Executive Board to be on ground to assess and take decisions regarding all issues that could make the events successful. The first series of the Executive Board meetings being hosted by Zambia took place 12-14 September, 2023. It was chaired by the Minister of Education, Mr. Douglas Siakalima, MP, and co-chaired by the AFTRA President, Professor Josiah Ajiboye. The meeting was very successful and Zambia is on high gear currently putting in place all the recommendations of the Board. T he Teaching Council of Zambia lead by Dr Ebby Mubanga, who is the Registrar of the Council, is leading the National Organising Committee.
