This was the first AFTRA Conference held jointly with the eLearning Africa Conference organised by ICWE, a globally renowned German company. eLearning Africa was the largest continental conference on digital capabilities. AFTRA  went into partnership with the company to acquire the required global technical know-how to launch its own conference internationally. It also provided opportunity to showcase AFTRA and announce its conference to the world. After that first attempt, AFTRA's conferences became the most popular summit of governments and stakeholders on the teaching profession in Africa till this date.
